We have two MSc students spending a number of months with us at MEM this year working on research projects as part of their MSc.
Logan Clancy from Cardiff University and Victoria Smyth from the University of Exeter were invited to present at the Environmental Mineralogy Group & RSC Radiochemistry Group Research in Progress Meeting 2024, Manchester, this week. The theme for the event was Environmental contaminant mobility: Mineralogy and Radiochemistry.
First to present for us was Logan on "CO2 and O2 flux assessment in Mine Waste for implementation of field trials at a mine site in Northern Europe" followed by Vicky's presentation on "Further development of a sustainable active treatment system for circum-neutral mine water with precipitation and sorption mechanisms". Congratulations to Vicky and Logan for their successful presentations and we wish them every success with their respective research projects at MEM. Their abstracts can be viewed below.
