I graduated from Newcastle University with a PhD in palynofacies and organic geochemistry of black shales.
Before joining MEM I had worked in a variety of scientific, project management and team leader roles for 21 years within the oil and gas sector, most of which within a consultancy environment. This involved project work on six continents, and travel to countries including Libya, Australia, Norway and the United Arab Emirates.
Outside work I am crazy cat lady, with delinquent Abyssinians who love to contribute to remote meetings when I’m working from home. I’m also trained in marine mammal observing, and love nothing more than to visit my spiritual home of Faial in the Azores, to catch up with friends, pootle around volcanoes, and pursue my love of wildlife and landscape photography.
