I am a geologist by background, with ten years’ research experience on the mineralogy and geochemistry of nutrients, trace and rare earth elements. My expertise is on solid–liquid state interactions and mineral dissolution/precipitation controls in natural or anthropogenically intervened systems. I conduct applied interdisciplinary research linking geoscience to decision making on aspects relevant to critical raw material exploitation and efficient utilisation towards sustainable resource management and environmental protection. My work typically combines field and macroscopic observations with mineralogical and chemical analyses; and is commonly carried out in collaboration with the industry, academia, research institutes, government agencies and NGOs.
