To complement our HQ in North Wales, Mine Environment Management is proud to have recently opened the MEM Innovation Hub at the Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre, South Wales.

To coincide with the new venture, Rhys Savage (pictured below) is joining us as a Geoscientist and will head up the Ebbw Vale office where he will be joined this year by MSc students Rosalia Shiimi and Daniel Schoen from Cardiff University to collaborate on research projects including “Green Mining – zero waste metals recovery from mine water” and “Carbon sequestration potential assessments of mine waste and the movement to net-zero mining”.

The MEM innovation hub is ideally placed geographically to continue our long standing collaboration with Dr Andrew Barnes and his team at the Geochemic laboratory in Pontypool and also our spin-off joint venture company Cambrian Environmental Technology (CET) with fellow Welsh company Maelgwyn Mineral Services based in Cardiff. CET is currently developing and commercialising sustainable mine water treatment and metals recovery technology.
